The restaurant was a big plus.
The shower stall tends to flood the entire bathroom.
Our room was spacious, clean, nicely appointed and the location of Gerloczy was very central to everything we wanted to see. The staff was very helpful. The attached restaurant was wonderful.
I only wish there was internet access for guests.
Great value in a fabulous location
air conditioning was not up to the hat weather
The restaurant and hotel'd location
Really disliked the bathroom. Very small, and no shower curtain (which I understand is common in Hungary). This was a deal-breaker and we moved out after one night.
Old building has been beautifully restored. Rooms are large with very high ceilings.Staff were very nice. Free wi-fi worked well. Location is perfect.
The only negative is that the shower leaked around the base so that the bathroom floor got pretty wet after a shower.
Location. Relatively quiet. Comfort. Room 2/3 overlooked hotel patio. Will stay again if same room available.
Towells in short supply. Not much shelf space for cosmetics. Breakfast arrangement complicated. Twelve Euro allowance hard to configure as menu in forints. Suggest for future guests that as a helpful guideline a menu of breakfast recommendations be available.
The room was beautiful. The staff was very friendly and helpful. It was a perfect location to walk to the river. I loved this hotel!
Stylish comfortable boutique hotel in a quite good location. Great hi speed internet. Delicious breakfast
The waiter of the first day was unbelievably rude at breakfast which created a poor first impression but the other staff were fine. Id personally look for something thats a little better value for money next time (and I'll be back budapest is awesome!). Didnt make it for lunch or dinner but the food looks excellent.
Outstanding value; great on-site restaurant, helpful staff; refined old-world ambience, very atmospheric.
Perfect place to stay when you want to be close to everything worthwhile seeing in Budapest, and still it's an oasis withdrawn from traffic noise and the business of a big city. Excellent restaurant with the best food! Enjoyed every moment of our stay.
The hotel has so much character, lovely thick carpets, antique furnishings, a delightful outdoor cafe setting and the staff are lovely. A perfect location for anyone visiting Budapest
Nothing really to dislike, just a couple of "odd" things. One was the shower, located over a lovely free standing bath tub, but no screen or curtain so all the floor got very wet every time we showered. Not practical but it looked great. Another thing was the wardrobe cupboard. Not really a wardrobe but adapted for that purpose. Glass doors so everything was exposed and obviously very "antique" with rickety doors which squeaked when opening. As I said they were odd but certainly not a problem. I will definitely stay at Gerloczy Rooms next time in Budapest.
A hotel full of character - many original features in a period property. A small classy hotel in the heart of the city. Lovely deco throughout the hotel and the staircase was stunning. Reception staff were excellent. Recommend asking them to arrange transfers to and from the airport. The restaurant serves excellent food at reasonable prices - highly recommend........... lovely breakfast ordered from the main menu - all cooked to order.
On the negative the service in the restaurant is poor - lacking organisation and consistency .......even with allowance for different cultural expectations - the restaurant management need to take a serious look at the waiters - how they take orders, deliver it and cater for the needs of the clientele. But despite this - we prefered to eat at the hotel - because the ambience, food quality still remained very good.
Charming and high-quality rooms, very friendly personnel, great location, a lovely and quality French style restaurant under the hotel where they serve breakfast also from a' la carte that is one of the finest breakfasts I had at this level of hotels.
Parking by car is difficult, but it's old town, so can't expect anything much different
One of our favourite city break hotels. Great location (Pest is against my initial perception) the place to stay. Hotel was lovely, nice non-chain hungarian feel on a lovely square. The breakfast is great although to get full value for 12 euros a day you need to make sure you eat plenty whch is not a bad thing. We rated all excellent except for services\facilities only good because being picky we'd like mor towels and pillows and also comfort, also rated good, because the room was far too hot ( given cooish weater) at night. However, as we were there for five nights we found leaving the window open before we went out for the evening meant a good nights sleep. Small fry though and all in all a great place. Would definitely go back.
